A Dreamer
By : Dhea Nurrachma Salsabila
One sunny afternoon, I found myself standing in a city. I didn’t recognize anyone there even though there were a lot of people passing by. I thought about asking one of the people there, but suddenly I remembered a cell phone that I carried in my black bag. I immediately looked at the maps application and was surprised that I was already on Borneo Island.
“Oh, I’m finally here?” I said in my heart. I’ve wanted to go here for a long time but haven’t been able to. I am thrilled because I have many friends here other than on Java Island. I immediately told my friend to pick me up and go with her. But it turned out that I got news from my boyfriend that he would soon pick me up to go with him. My heart was beating fast because I had never met him before. So, I decided to wait for him by standing in the middle of the bustling city.
After two hours had passed, I saw a man stopped in front of me using his motorbike. My eyes were on him from under his feet to the top of his head. Wow! I was amazed to see the man dressed neatly in a long black shirt and white t-shirt, then black trousers and the air Jordan shoes he wore suited him. His hair was also immaculate, unlike mine.
“Dhea?” he said to me, who was still mesmerized by his appearance. “Oh, Arya?” I couldn’t still believe what I saw. “Are you, Arya?” again I asked him with uncontrolled heart beating. He smiled, “Yes. Come on!”. I nodded his invitation and immediately got on his motorbike to go somewhere.
In the middle of the trip, he looked at me through the rear-view mirror of his motorbike on the left, and suddenly, he pulled my hand to his stomach. “Don’t sit too far, or you’ll fall,” he said. I was shocked and obeyed him to hug him. He was driving his motorbike very fast until we finally arrived at a field in the middle of the forest.
The day was so bright that the sun’s rays illuminated the areas surrounded by large trees from the forest. Again, he pulled my hand. “The atmosphere here is very comfortable. I want you to enjoy it with me,” he said. The green grass that was not too high attracted me to lie on it. While looking at the blue sky, the wind blew gently. I heard some birds chirping on the trees. I felt a natural relaxation. Arya, who was also lying next to me, said, “Maybe we won’t be able to feel like this later.”
“What do you mean?” I asked him. Then he sat, looked at me, took my hand gently, and smiled warmly, covering the sun that was directly above me.
Suddenly everything went dark. I no longer saw Arya nor the sun above me. I couldn’t speak. Then I saw a very bright white light, and I realized. I was already on my bed, staring at the ceiling of my room, and realized that it was all just a dream.
